Since I was walking in the Riaza River Gorges I saw a lot of ants on the remains of an animal. I put over a pair of contact mics trying not to disturb to the ants. Maybe the sound you can hear in this audio is produced by the ants eating or the .

Actually, I just saw a nature program by David Attenborough...
LEaf cutter ants make these chirpy sounds to alert other ants that they found a tasty leaf. I guess these ants are making a similar sound to call other ants to food.
